BLC Robert & Associates has bagged yet another achievement which showcases our track record of getting results.
We are humbled to announce that BLC Robert & Associates has been recognised as the Mauritius Firm of the Year for the second consecutive year, and that our Managing Partner, Mr. Iqbal Rajahbalee SC, has been bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award, at the prestigious IFLR Africa Awards.

We have been also ranked in the ‘Deals of the Year’ category for our work in a Project Finance deal and in a Private Equity deal. The goal of the IFLR Africa Awards is to recognize the most innovative legal transactions for the year 2020-21, as well as firms and lawyers for their exceptional work, across the African region.

Jamie Rayat, awards editor for the IFLR Africa Awards said:BLC Robert & Associates was involved in many of Africa’s most cutting-edge business transactions during the awards review period. The firm demonstrated its strength in supporting a range of clients across different practice areas, including on deals that were recognised as pre-eminent in the African market.

One of the highlights was the Capitalworks’s acquisition and take-private of Peregrine, in which BLC Robert & Associates acted as Mauritian counsel to Capitalworks. The deal included advising on local Mauritius law aspects of the transaction and required creativity and commercial acumen.

In addition to these firm-wide credentials, BLC Robert & Associates’ managing partner Iqbal Rajahbalee received the Lifetime Achievement award during the ceremony. Iqbal receives this award thanks to a career littered with accomplishments in terms of shaping standards and influencing the market legal framework, and in mentoring the next generation of lawyers.

Our corporate culture relies deeply on our commitment to provide the best services to our clients, and we are pleased to say that our hard work is being paid off by our clients’ satisfaction which results in such international recognitions.
