Chavi GonpotLegal Executive
Chavi Gonpot is a lawyer at BLC Robert and is mainly involved in corporate, banking and financing transactions. Since joining BLC Robert in 2016, she has been involved in drafting security documents, undertaking due diligence, giving legal opinions, drafting corporate authoriations, assisting with review of debt financing agreements and advising on security packages in connection with cross border financing. Chavi was recently involved in the legal drafting documentations of a major transaction worth ZAR 1,950,740,000 and provided legal assistance in the review of foreign law governed facility and security agreements.
Chavi contributes on questionnaires from the World Bank. Being a logophile, Chavi commits to the publication of BLC’s periodical newsletter “Banking & Finance Insights”. Prior to joining the firm, Chavi carried out an internship in the Risk Management and Compliance Division at the State Bank of Mauritius whereby she was mainly involved in due diligence exercises, particularly in suspiscious transaction cases.
During her undergraduate journey, she has been an active member of the Kent Law Temple Society whereby she was involved in several moots. Chavi holds an LL.B at the University of Kent and is pursuing her LL.M at King’s College London in International Corporate and Commercial Law.
